Just got my check from work. It's a lot more than I thought it would be! Like hundreds more. This means that if the next one (in 2 weeks) is anywhere similar, I'll be able to buy this!

I'm feeling severely internet-deprived. I only have use of this laptop for 25 minutes before I hand it back over to my mother. Needless to say, fanfic writing is still at an agonizing crawl. I write in a notebook when I can and type when I can, but I generally take hours to write a chapter even with constant use of a computer.

ETA: Tried to get back onto my parents' laptop a couple hours ago only to discover it wasn't going through startup. Now all I have access to is the desktop, with the super large screen so that everyone in the living room can see what I'm doing. What are the odds?

My laptop kicked it today. I have everything on flash drives, so I haven't lost any of my writing, but I don't have a computer to use. (Currently hijacking my parents' laptop.)

It's an issue with the hinges, which from pure use broke, and screwed up the LCD along with them. There's a flicker when I turn the lap top on, but otherwise the screen stays entirely black.

Will be taking it in to see how much it will cost to get it fixed. But, very likely I won't have the money to get a new one for a while, or pay for repairs if it's above a certain amount. *glares at vet bills*

I'll see about sneaking some writing time in while my parents aren't home and using their comps to post, but can't promise anything.

Thanks for the comments to the last chapter and sorry I haven't responded yet. Working 6 days a week at the moment, about 9-11 hours a day. And since I ride the bus everywhere, this means I'm away from home for about 12-14 hours when I work.

On the plus side, I have definitely bulked up already, especially in the upper body, so at least there's that. But yeah, since it's pure physical work involving lots of constant motion and lifting of heavy objects (or, you know, dogs), I'm all nice and worn out at the end of each day. Especially on Tues and Thurs, when I have weight training after work.

About 1,000 words into the next chapter of TGA. I'm going to try and write a bit more now and then go to bed.

( Part 64: Fighter )

I'm done! My last final (zoology) was a bit anticlimactic. We started the test at 8:05 AM, I was done by 8:25. Uuuhhhhh.

I have today and tomorrow off, work Saturday and then have the following week off. I'm going to start working on a project to build a planted terrarium, but in between waiting for things to dry, etc, I'll be dipping myself back into the world of fanfic writing and reading -- I'm so excited to be able to read fanfiction again!

Thursday is my last final, and then I'm DONE for the semester. And taking a week off before going back to work full time. And also doing my yearly summer ritual of trying to gain back all the weight I've lost. And then to intensive weight training. And a million other things I've had to put aside in favor of balancing work and school.

Free time cannot come fast enough.

Barring my sudden inexplicable falling into a coma, there will be an update this weekend.

Um. Yeah. The college classes and the... yeah. College.

Also? This was my POV today about 0.8 seconds before that tennis ball smashed into my right eye.

*sigh* Haven't made much headway with the next chapter of TGA.

And they are long ramblings. Seriously. Usually I go back and delete pages things and condense them so it's not so much like reading a novel. Tonight I didn't waste time doing that.

Hope everyone's doin' well. Will try to trudge along with the fanfic but I'm afraid I'm already assuming panic mode and getting ready to do overtime studying.

I'm taking a week off as soon as school's out, though. Then I'll be going back to work full time, which I'm very excited about. I love work!

Ok. I'm going to go to sleep. Summer Wind's been laying on his back and rubbing his head against my arm, telling me it's time for cuddles. Btw, he's so thick, now! All the hair's grown back, of course, but he's all big-boned padded bulk. Would never be able to tell that five months ago he was a sickly skeletal little thing.

Ended up nursing a days-long migraine this weekend that started Thursday night and only just went away late Sunday morning. Still, I did manage to get the first draft (3500 words) of the next chapter of TGA done and will post it as soon as I get it edited. Poor Spike got his first break in a while from physical molestation! *g* Of course, there're loads of other issues...
