Still here. Still trying to get the life back into even a semblance of order. As expected, the dog is helping in some aspects. In others, I'm still getting used to owning something so needy. *snorts*

Funny note: Last Saturday he got put into the little dog yard at work for the second time. Usually he plays, and there are a couple of particularly dominant dogs who try to mount him. He's never tried or shown an interest in reciprocating, except for when a spunky 6 month old westie mix came in for first-time boarding. The westie mix's name? Why, Spike, of course.

This would be the point where I would make a tasteless joke comparing me and my dog, but uh, I'll let you come up with your own.

I actually OPENED my fanfic files for the first time in over a month yesterday, but only managed to write a few lines. Still, it's progress over the stagnation of before.

I think for Noel of Spike I'm going to do what I did two years ago and draw pairings/themes from a hat. (That was how the Justine/Spike California Christmas came to be.)

Checking in. RL has been severely inhibiting with several -- mostly awful -- personal issues. But I'll only mention the good things.

- Went to go see Wicked in San Francisco last Saturday, something I've been wanting to do for years. Had a grand old time! If tickets didn't cost an arm and a leg I'd go again.

The second good thing is long and pet-related so I'll put it under a cut.

The third thing is that while I'm working on calculus today, I'm watching Being Human again for the first time since March. I forgot just how much I do love these characters. Especially poor George. :)

( Part 71: Worthless )

Had a paraplegic dog in the house at work that warranted a bit more care than normal, so didn't quite get the chapter finished. Needs one more scene and a read-through/edit. Will do that tonight, after some sleep and my calc class.

My cat is letting me know how much he missed me by sharpening his claws on my textbook.

The next TGA update should be soon -- I hope to finish it tonight during my overnight shift at work. If not, I have time the following evening to work on it.

After that update, I'm going to start working on the rough draft for a one-shot I'm doing based off of my nekid numbers prompts. I'm going to post that on the 31st. Unfortunately, it's not a Halloween-fic, but I've moved on from that. And, yes, it does contain another excuse for Spike to end up tied up and molested.

( Part 69: Safe )

Just a note: TGA is going to still be updated Saturday (tomorrow), but it won't be until I get off work in the evening. So, for those of you across the pond, it won't be up until Sunday. My father came down with a 48 hour flu bug and I had to spend some of my free time doing his chores.

It's almost causing me physical pain to do homework and study instead of write fic. Ah well. One more day!

Will have an update up Saturday, and then it'll be another week before I get the next one up. Also, I'm going to outline the final chapters and hopefully get an estimate of just how many there are left. (Which could mean next to nothing, but you know.)

Then TGA will be done with, and after some months of updating my other fics (Only the Echoes will probably be the first one focused on, since it's the closest to being finished) and behind-the-scenes writing, I'll begin posting the sequel.
